Oh, please, please! Please do it!

Doug Ross, at home, with unnamed vegetable companion

You know what? I would love-love-LOVE it if Rmoney adopted the crazy shit being recommended here by Doug Ross, and you know why?

Because if he does, there won’t be a President Romney — the ideas are so colossally dumb and out of touch that it would sink the Romney campaign like the Titanic. Shit, if your whole train of thought is kicked off by Jennifer “Wrong-About-Everything” Rubin then you are wrong by definition, no exceptions. Not even if you come to a completely different point of view, because her idiocy infects everything it touches, like some kind of zombie editorial. Jennifer Rubin is so monumentally racist and cretinous that only a fatuous, asinine dimwit could consider her scribbling a good jumping off point… Oh, wait.

So, please, Mittens, do adopt the ideas so generously farted out provided by insane asylum escapee Doug Ross, it’ll be just swell for your campaign!

Is getting a book signed a fundamental political right?

Posted by That Other Mike on 15/06/2012

No? Then shut the fuck up, you fucking idiot.

ETA: Same goes for you, Glenn, you cretinous fuck knuckle – attending a speech is not a Constitutionally-protected right.

Silly wingnuts are silly.

Posted by That Other Mike on 06/06/2012

Ah, wingnuts. You never get tired of proving the point you’re trying to argue against, do you?

Oh, and one more thing – Marxism actually means something as an idea. Throwing it around as a catch-all insult for stuff you dislike just make you look like even more of an idiot.

An Open Letter to Glenn Reynolds

Posted by That Other Mike on 11/05/2012

Dear Glenn,

Next time you go on a sex tour to Bangkok vacation and need some fill-in writers for your blog, please do us a favour and find someone from the ranks of the less stupid wingnuts — the current stand-in is a cretin and is accelerating the already speedy downward spiral of your blog into unconscious parody.

As easy as it is to make fun of your blog normally, this is like dynamiting fish in a very small barrel. Where the fish are already dead.

Love,
Mike

Tennessee has it all figured out.

Posted by That Other Mike on 14/04/2012

Or at least that’s the implication; they must have it all figured out, otherwise why would they waste their time on this crap?

That’s right, the Tennessee Senate is working on making sure that their kids don’t experiment with dangerous gateway activities like hand-holding, heavy petting and kissing, because intimacy kills. Or something.

Let’s just ignore the fact that abstinence-only education doesn’t work, that it’s inherently discriminatory towards LGBT kids, and that it’s mired in sexism, because maybe this will be the bill which actually makes kids in TN realise that doing teh sexytime without a ring on your finger will straight up murder you.

And, hey, who knows? Maybe this will work, against all expectations in the reality-based community, and Tennesseans will breed themselves out of existence. Or not breed, in this case.

Wingnuts defending John Derbyshire? Say it isn’t so!

Posted by That Other Mike on 09/04/2012

So, I was going to comment on John Derbyshire’s recent virulently racist screed in Taki Mag and subsequent firing from Wingnut Welfare Magazine The National Review, but, to be frank, others have done it better and with more flair, such as Roy Edroso.

Roy also goes on to skewer the hordes of wingnut bloggers rushing to defend Derbyshire’s racist rant and tell us how the Leftists and Blacks are the Real Racists™ because plantations and crime and niggers should get jobs already, or something; they’re not totally coherent, as is often the case with their ilk.

Oh, look! Now he’s moved to libel!

Posted by That Other Mike on 19/12/2011

Look, kids! Butthurt wingnut Peter DiGuadio (aka the Underground Conservative) has now moved to libelling me, although he’s apparently too chicken to actually stand by his own insults. It may be that there is the faintest flicker of intelligence in his skull which is telling him that actually out-and-out making that kind of libellous and actionable statement might get him into trouble.

The real irony, though, lies in what Petey does in his spare time. Did you guess what it is yet, peeps? That’s right, Petey is a sports coach! I wonder exactly why his mind went straight to a sports coach raping children?

Not just ignorant and bigoted, but proud of it

Posted by That Other Mike on 15/12/2011

The modern American Right – not just ignorant and bigoted, but proud of it. Essentially, right-wingers in the USA have elevated ignorance, stupidity and cupidity to the highest value. Given that fact, it’s no wonder that they feel no shame whatsoever in posting this kind of crap.

There is no understanding of First Amendment scholarship or case law there, only a lot of in-my-gut-I-know-it’s-true, a lot of truthiness, and, to be blunt, a lot of idiocy. There is also little to no evidence of an understanding of common humanity; ironic, given the poster’s pretence at being Christian, that he would disregard the precepts of good will to all in favour of repugnant and juvenile Nazi comparisons. If this is the best that the modern Right can come up with, the Left has nothing to worry about.

I’m not going to rehash every single way that the Underground Conservative is wrong –it’s established law and well-known that government entities are prohibited from having religiously partisan and sectarian displays at any time of year, whatever the ignorant may say about it– and it would be a waste of time, in any case; the poster is not interested in a dialogue, after all, only in scoring cheap political points by waving his flag of stupidity.

The Underground Conservative would do best to live up to his name – underground is where most of the creepy-crawlies live, after all, and he fits right in there.

ETA: Oh, look – he’s trying to be insulting. How cute, he thinks that’s going to be insulting!

Unless… Well, let’s think about it. The Underground Conservative, who I will be calling Peter from now on (as that’s his name) does live in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and it is kind of rural near there. Could it be that he thinks he’s being helpful? Could it be that Peter DiGaudio actually likes sheep and thinks he’s making a useful contribution?

Petey, while it’s nice that you’re trying to be a productive member of the community for a change (because your coaching obviously doesn’t qualify), I don’t go that way. Plus, I’m happily married. To a human woman.

Deadly attack rocks central Liege in Belgium

Posted by That Other Mike on 13/12/2011

BBC News – Deadly attack rocks central Liege in Belgium

.
A gunman has opened fire in the centre of the Belgian city of Liege, killing at least three people and wounding 64 including a toddler, media say.

The man also threw grenades into a crowded square from a rooftop before killing himself, reports say.

The attacker was named as Nordine Amrani. He was known to police for firearms offences.

Earlier reports said at least two more men were involved, but city officials said the attacker acted alone.

The public prosecutor said terrorism was not a cause.

Amrani was jailed for 58 months in September 2008 for possessing firearms, media reports said.

Let’s count down the seconds until some wingnut blowhard connects this on no evidence whatsoever to Al Qaeda or the Muslim Brotherhood or whatever “Islamofascist” group is the boogeyman this week.

The worst thing about it, though, is that if the attack were somehow linked to an extremist Muslim group, the usual pundits would feel entirely justified in their linking it to Muslims, even knowing that they did so in a kneejerk, evidence-free way; and they will resolutely fail to understand why this is wrong, regardless of the outcome.

Ends do not justify means — the legitimacy of a result does not lie in it being the result you wanted, but in how you got there. If the only way you came to answer was through bigotry, doublethink or plain old lack of logical reasoning, your answer must be discounted, whether it is accidentally correct or not.

A college student?

Posted by That Other Mike on 01/12/2011

You’re a college student, really? Which third rate college gave you a place, Chris? Serioulsy, I need to know so I can inform faculty that you’re an ignorant, racist fuckstick.
